This is your moment! Be yourself, enjoy your family, and HAVE FUN!

Have fun! It is important that your personalities and moods are captured in your photos. If the kids aren't having fun, no body is having fun! We will get THE shot first off, the one that everyone loves for the Christmas card. After, everything is game!
Moments over poses: Snuggles, games, laughter. No looking at the camera, unless you want.
Always touching: Make contact with your family, hugs, snuggles, kisses, raspberries. Show the connection and love your family has.
Don't stress: if your kids are nervous or acting a little wild, let’s roll with it! I welcome and embrace children in every aspect of themselves. If your child is nervous, lets snuggle, if they are wild (like mine) let's run and play!
Bring snacks, water, a blanket, jackets/cardigans (if it's cold), more water and snacks, and extra change of clothes in case someone gets too messy for the car ride home. Have fun and don't stress! Wipes and tissues are a must! All noses run!

Choosing your look
Comfort: Movement! We will be moving around while playing and you don't want your child (or yourself) feeling the itch, constriction or frustration of clothing. Trust me, It will show in your photos! If your child is wearing a skirt or dress make sure to wear bloomers underneath (even just a pair of shorts).
Accessorize it: hats, scarves, jewelry, blankets, headbands, suspenders. All things that add personality to your family dynamic.
Patterns: I love a funky pattern or florals. Mix patterns with solids to create contrast.
Textures & layers: Layers add texture and textures add interest. Denim, chunky knits, lace, cords, all the things! Keep it interesting but keep it your style!
Color: make sure the colors you choose complement each other. Colors that will stand out best are muted, earthy tones. Some examples are: mustard yellow, mauve pink, browns or khaki, dark blue, hunter green, dark reds/oranges
MAKE IT YOUR OWN: this session is about you! And it's so important to make sure that your family's personality shines through in every aspect.
Things to avoid
Glasses without antiglare or with transitions: I will ask you to remove glasses from pictures if they are distracting or I cannot see your eyes. Bring a case to place them in during your session, or talk to your optician about removing lenses from an old pair of glasses.
Giant logos: DISTRACTING!
neon colors: NOOOOOO!!!!
matchy-matchy: Mix it up! Show your personality. Let the kids pick something they LOVE!
